Greetings from Alpha Centauri and thanks for visiting! My name is Mike LeVasseur but I have performed under several stages names including Mike Gordon, Mickey Luv and Major Maestro. I am an organic musician who started playing the piano at seven and never stopped. The purpose of this website is to provide a gateway to all of my music throughout my lifetime - solo material, bands, originals, covers, funk, jazz, children's songs and electronica.
I perform in the greater Atlanta area as a solo pianist and also with duos, trios and various bands. I am also involved with original music projects and recording projects, mostly with Rob Tenney at Tenney Tunes Studios on Marietta. Rob and I are the New York Jazz Cats (www.NewYorkJazzCats.com) and part of Nick & The Healers (www.reverbnation.com/nickthehealers).
My greatest achievement (other than being a family man) is the 2019 release a 3-disc set containing four hours of original electronic music that I composed over a 20-year period. I wrote and performed all the music using synthesizers, electronic keyboards, samplers and old-fashioned tape recorders. This was done without the benefit of digital multi-track recorders that let you have limitless tracks and make corrections easily; at most I recorded two sets of overdubs and the second one was the final master that went direct to reel-to-reel tape so there was no room for error.
